In a bowl, mix together the gram flour, ajwain, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, and salt.
Gradually add water and whisk until the mixture forms a smooth, thick batter.
Cut the bread slices into triangles.
Dip each bread slice into the batter, ensuring it's well coated from all sides.
Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat.
Once the oil is hot, drop the batter-coated bread slices into the oil.
Fry until they turn golden brown and crisp.
Drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
Serve hot with ketchup or tamarind chutney.
