Boondi Raita is a popular Indian side dish, often enjoyed with biryani, pulao or roti. It consists primarily of Boondi (fried, small and round gram flour balls) soaked in a mixture of yogurt, and spices. This dish is known for its refreshing and cooling effect and hence, is preferred during the summertime or with spicy meals. It originates from North India and is an integral part of Indian cuisine.

To start with, soak the Boondi in warm water for a few minutes till they become soft. Then, strain them and keep it to the side.
In a separate bowl, beat the curd until it becomes smooth.
Add black salt, cumin powder and salt to the curd and mix well.
Now, add the softened Boondi to the curd mixture and stir it till they are well combined.
Garnish with green chilies, red chili powder and fresh coriander.
Chill the Boondi Raita in the fridge for at least an hour before serving.
