Wash the bhindi under running water and pat dry them.
Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter before you add onions.
Saute onions until translucent, then add the green chillies.
Add turmeric and chilli powders, followed by the chopped tomatoes.
Cook until the tomatoes are soft. Add the bhindi to the pan.
Add salt as per taste and mix well. Cover the pan and let it cook on low heat for about 15-20 minutes.
Stir from time to time until the bhindi is cooked.
Serve hot with roti or rice.
