Wash and dry the Bhindi. Cut off the ends and slice into small pieces.
Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. When they start to crackle, add the sliced onions and fry until golden brown.
Add the tomatoes and green chillies and fry for a few minutes.
Add the Bhindi and fry for a few minutes.
Add the coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and garam masala. Mix well and fry for a few minutes.
Add salt to taste and mix well.
Cover the pan and cook on low heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serve hot with chapatis or rice.
