Wash and pat dry the okra. Make a slit on each piece without cutting through completely.
In a small bowl, mix salt, turmeric, cumin powder, coriander powder, amchur and asafoetida.
Fill each okra with the spice mixture.
Heat oil in a pan and add the stuffed okra. Cook on a medium flame until okra is cooked and crispy.
Serve the Bharwa Bhindi hot with plain roti or dal-rice.
