salt

A pinch

Lemon juice to taste

Directions

Step 1:

Rinse the barley under cold water until the water runs clear.

Step 2:

Add the barley and water to a large pot. Bring to a boil.

Step 3:

Once boiling, reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 20 minutes.

Step 4:

Drain the barley water into a jug using a fine strainer.

Step 5:

Add a pinch of salt, lemon juice and honey according to taste and stir well.

Step 6:

Serve the barley water cold or hot according to preference.
