Ingredients

idli or dosa batter

1 cup

finely chopped onion

1

finely chopped green chilli

1

finely chopped coriander leaves

A small bunch

Salt to taste

baking soda

1/4 teaspoon

Ghee or oil for frying

Directions

Step 1:

In a mixing bowl, take the idli or dosa batter.

Step 2:

Add chopped onion, green chilli, coriander leaves and salt to the batter. Mix well.

Step 3:

Add baking soda and mix again.

Step 4:

Heat the Appe pan and add some ghee or oil in the cavities.

Step 5:

Pour the batter into each cavity of the Appe pan.

Step 6:

Cover and cook on a low flame until the base is nicely golden and the top part gets cooked due to the steam.

Step 7:

Once the base is golden, flip the Appe with a stick or spoon.

Step 8:

Cook all sides until golden and crisp.

Step 9:

Serve hot with coconut chutney or sambar.
