Guilt free Coconut barfi

Sweets are something that are enjoyed by everyone. It is also a great indulgence, if consumed in moderation. So, along with the relishing, we also need to keep a tab of our sugar intake on a regular basis. Here is a guilt-free burfi recipe for you that is hearty, but also equally healthily.

  • 1 cup Desiccated coconut
  • 1/2 cup Almond powder
  • 1/2 cup dates, pitted
  • 3 tbsp Milk
  • 1 tsp Ghee
  • 1/2 tsp Cardmom powder
  • A few saffron strands


  • Soak dates in boiling milk for 10 minutes and blend into a smoothe paste.
  • In a skillet, add some ghee and add the date puree.
  • Cook for two minutes on low flame.
  • Add in the almond powder and desiccated coconut and saute for a few minutes
  • You will find a dough like consistency.
  • Stir in the saffron milk and cardamom powder.
  • Meanwhile, grease a tin with ghee
  • Spread the dough evenly into the tin and keep aside to cool.
  • Serve by cutting into diamond shaped pieces and serve.
